My vet recommended this brand. My dog takes it eagerly so there is no problem administering the dosage, and it protects dogs against a very expensive and painful problem.

I have used this for years....I do rescue and have used this fo dogs that come in with heartworm...if they test up to medium about 6 months dosage of this will take care of the worms and then they don't have to have the arsenic treatment that is so dangerous.

It used to be the job of the person who drew the short straw to get the dog to take his heartworm medicine. We got tired of wrestling with him and pushing the pill down his throat, so we tried hiding the pill in small pieces of liverwurst. He'd chomp each one as we tossed it to him, but he always knew which one had the pill, and he'd spit it out. But not Interceptor. Apparently this medicine tastes great, because he sits up and begs for it as if it were his favorite treat. I can't say that Interceptor is more effective than other heartworm pills, but no heartworm pill does any good if the dog won't swallow it.

The dogs take it willingly and I have the peace of mind that they are protected. A friend's dog got heartworm and the treatment was just terrible. I never want a dog of mine to suffer like his did.

The price offered by VetDepot is good, particularly with two dogs to worry about.
