Sentinel is approved for use in dogs
only. Do not give Sentinel to cats or to any other animals.
Keep out of reach of children. Do not
allow children to administer Sentinel. Read directions and precautionary
statements before use.
Directions:
- Test your dog for heartworms
prior to beginning heartworm prevention medication.
- Weigh your dog prior to
administering Sentinel to ensure proper dosing.
- Remove Sentinel from its
packaging just before giving the product to your dog.
- Administer one tablet containing
2.3 mg of Milbemycin Oxime and 46 mg of lufenuron to dogs weighing 2
to 10 lbs.
- Administer one tablet containing
5.75 mg of Milbemycin Oxime and 115 mg of lufenuron to dogs weighing
11 to 25 lbs.
- Administer one tablet containing
11.5 mg of Milbemycin Oxime and 230 mg of lufenuron to dogs weighing
26 to 50 lbs.
- Administer one tablet containing
23 mg of Milbemycin Oxime and 460 mg of lufenuron to dogs weighing 51
to 100 lbs.
- Speak with your veterinarian
about dosing for dogs weighing more than 100 lbs.
- Monitor your dog to make
certain the entire dose of Sentinel is swallowed. If your dog spits
out the entire product, promptly administer one more full dose. If a
partial dose is swallowed, consult your veterinarian for advice.
Frequency of Use:
Administer Sentinel once a month on
the same day of each month. Continue this schedule year-round, unless
otherwise instructed by your veterinarian.
Storage:
Store this product at room temperature,
away from pets and children. Keep this product inside its original packaging
until ready to use.
It is a violation of Federal Law
to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Milbemycin oxime, one of Sentinel's
active ingredients, may work by interfering with invertebrate neurotransmission.
Lufenuron, the other active ingredient in Sentinel Flavor Tabs, inhibits
the development of flea eggs to break the flea life cycle and control
infestations. Lufenuron does not affect adult fleas.

Warnings:
Keep this product out of reach of children
and animals.
It is not know if the concurrent use
of Sentinel and Capstar is safe for pregnant or nursing dogs. It is
not know if the concurrent use of Sentinel and Capstar is safe for puppies
less than 11 weeks of age.
Sentinel is intended for use in dogs
and puppies older than 4 weeks of age and weighing more than 2 lbs.
Sentinel may cause adverse effects
in some dogs, including vomiting, urticaria, lethargy, depression, itching,
anorexia, diarrhea, ataxia, skin congestion, hypersalivation, weakness,
and convulsions.
CAUTION: It is important to
test and treat for adult heartworms before beginning preventative care
with Sentinel. Dogs carrying a large number of heartworm microfilariae
have shown hypersensitivity reactions to Sentinel that included labored
breathing, vomiting, lethargy, and salivation.
Seek immediate veterinary attention
for possible overdose. Symptoms of overdose may include depression,
vomiting, drowsiness, diarrhea, loss of appetite, seizures, hypersalivation,
and weakness.
Use caution when giving Sentinel to
dogs also taking amiodarone, azole antifungals, carvedilol, cyclosporine,
erthromycin, diltiazem, quinidine, clarithromycin, spironolactone, verapamil,
or tamoxifen.
