The following directions represent
a standard use and are not to be used in place of your veterinarian's
instructions. Doses are generally lower than indicated in kittens and
puppies. Use exactly as prescribed by your veterinarian.
Directions for Tumil-K Tablets and
Powder:
- Administer with food.
- Give adult cats and adult
dogs 1 tablet or 1/4 level teaspoon (0.65 g) powder per every 10 lbs.
of body weight twice daily.
- Feed tablets by hand or
add them to food. Mix powder into food.
- Watch your pet receive doses
to be sure they are consumed.
Directions for Tumil-K Gel:
- Administer with food.
- Place a tiny amount of gel
on your pet's nose to stimulate interest.
- Give adult cats and adult
dogs 1/2 teaspoon (2.34 g) per every 10 lbs. of body weight twice daily.
- Offer gel directly or administer
dose to a front paw once interest is established.
Frequency of Use:
Typical usage calls for two daily doses
of Tumil-K. Duration of supplementation varies according to your pet's
needs.
If you miss a dose and remember it
the same day, administer it; do not give a missed dose on a subsequent
day. Do not give an extra dose on any day.
Storage:
Keep out of reach of children and animals.
Store Tumil-K in its original container,
tightly sealed. Keep at controlled room temperature between 59 and 86
degrees F, away from heat and moisture.
It is a violation of Federal Law
to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Tumil-K provides potassium gluconate.
This mineral is essential to the proper functioning of muscles and organs.
It helps treat hypokalemia, or low potassium levels, as well as other
conditions responsive to potassium supplementation.
Tumil-K products require a prescription
from your veterinarian.
Tumil-K (Potassium Gluconate)
Tumil-K is sold in bottles of 100 tablets,
with each tablet containing 2 mEq (468 mg) potassium gluconate.
Tumil-K is sold in 4-oz containers
of powder, with every 0.65 g (1/4 tsp.) containing 2 mEq (468 mg) potassium
gluconate.
Tumil-K is sold in 5-oz tubes, with
every 2.34 g (1/2 tsp.) containing 2 mEq (468 mg) potassium gluconate.
Warnings:
Keep this product out of reach of children
and animals. Do not use or store in or near open flame or heat.
Tumil-K is only for cats and dogs with
a diagnosed need for potassium supplementation. Do not give to other
animals. Do not give to cats or dogs to which this product was not prescribed.
Not for human consumption.
Use as prescribed by your veterinarian.
CAUTION: Difficulty breathing,
hives, rash, itching, and facial swelling are some signs of an allergic
reaction. Discontinue use and seek emergency veterinary treatment.
Some side effects include gastrointestinal
and cardiac disturbances and muscle weakness. Talk to your veterinarian
about any observed adverse reactions.
Consult your veterinarian immediately
about a known or suspected overdose.
Tumil-K is not for animals with hyperkalemia,
acute or advanced renal failure, acute dehydration, adrenal insufficiency,
urethral obstruction, or other conditions that may cause elevated potassium
levels.
Use with caution in pets with heart
disease, particularly in digitalized animals and those with kidney disease.
Tell your veterinarian if your pet
takes any heart medication, potassium sparing diuretics, ACE inhibitors,
or other medications or supplements. Ask your veterinarian before putting
your pet on any additional drugs or supplements.
