I can't really tell you about the product, because my cat is taking it and I have nothing to compare to. However, I want to say my vet charged me a lot more for 5 pills than what I paid for a bottle of 100 from VetDepot. My vet originally said he would match a lower price but told me HE couldn't even get it for this low amount. He was irritated because he won't get to make lots of $$$ on me!

This is a small pill, thank goodness, because my cat can smell it no matter how much I disguise it. She has after 6 months now accepted the fact that I must just open her mouth and put it at the back of her throat....no more fighting. Be careful though......its so small that sometimes she tricks me and spits it out when I turn around, but very easy to administer!

I originally purchased the 10mg tablets to cut in half as my cat's dose is 5mg two times a day. He had some difficulty swallowing the larger pill even though it was only half size. This time I ordered the 5mg tablet and he is swallowing the smaller pill much more easily. I appreciated how easy it was to change the pill size with VetDepot, thanks!

When my vet charged me the first time for the Methimazole I knew I needed to find another option! I was so glad to have found Vet Depot, who provides the same product at a third of the price my vet was charging me! Fantastic price for this medication. I am a registered veterinary technician in Ohio, and am incredibly pro obtaining medications from online pharmacies. There is no sense whatsoever in paying more, just because of the convenience of walking out of your vet's office with it. We who work there know that they are the same med. I've yet to know of an experience where the customer did not get what they wanted or thought they were getting - so if your veterinarian is trying to discourage you from using such a site ask for some factual reason why, and perhaps real contact information for that reference if at all possible. They probaby just want the money to stay within their clinic. Which is a valid desire - but the mark up on medications at vet clinics is UNBELIEVABLY HIGH.

When I was told my cat had hyperthyroidism and my vet gave me a monthly cost of over $60.00 to help her....I didn't know what I was going to do! My cat has a hyperthyroid, and her vet has prescribed methimazole for some time. I had been buying the generic from a different source than Vet Depot, that company went out of business. So, I shopped around and found Vet Depot offered the equivalent generic for about half the price I had been paying, which up until then I thought was a great price. Service was good and the meds are fine.

My cat was losing weight rapidly and until all the test came back I was in fear of losing her. With the diagnosis and this medicine she has recovered and I am very grateful. Even more so when I found the medicine on the website instead of paying the fee at doctor's office and very happy with the speed of service. One thing was surprised is on my reorder the pills were in a different bottle and much larger making it a little more difficult getting down my cat's throat. She is bribed with treats so eventually they get swallowed, but it may take a few more attempts and persuasion.
