Revolution is only for dogs and cats.
Not for puppies less than 6 weeks old or kittens less than 8 weeks old.
Not for human use. Do not apply Revolution to other animals, or to any
animal for which it was not prescribed. Use only as prescribed by your
veterinarian.
Keep out of reach of children. Do not
allow children to apply Revolution to pets. Read directions and precautionary
statements before use.
The standard minimum dosage of Revolution
is 2.7 mg selamectin per pound. Talk to your veterinarian about an appropriate
combination of Revolution dosages for dogs weighing more than 130 lbs.
Apply only when the hair is dry. Do
not apply to broken skin.
Revolution dries quickly. You may bathe
your pet 2 or more hours after application.
Stiff or clumping hair, discoloration,
or residue is normal after-effects of applying Revolution. They are
temporary and have no bearing on the safety or effectiveness of the
application.
Directions:
- Press the tube's cap down
with enough force to puncture the seal. Listen for a clicking sound
that confirms the puncture.
- Take the cap off and confirm
that the tip of the tube is open.
- Part your dog or cat's fur
at the base of the neck between the shoulder blades, exposing the underlying
skin.
- Place the tip of the Revolution
tube against the skin.
- Squeeze the tube 3 or 4
times to empty all contents onto one spot on the skin.
- Pull the tube away from
the skin, stop squeezing, and check that it is empty. Do not rub the
product into the skin.
- Wash hands thoroughly with
soap and warm water after application.
Frequency of Use:
Apply Revolution once a month, on the
same day each month. If you accidentally skip an application, administer
it as soon as you remember it, unless it is almost time for the next
application; in such cases, simply wait for the next dose. Never give
a double dose. Revolution may be used year-round or during appropriate
seasons, as your veterinarian recommends.
Storage:
Store in original container and out
of reach of children and animals.
Store Revolution below 86 degrees F.
It is a violation of Federal Law
to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Selamectin, the active ingredient in
Revolution, is effective against a range of parasitic infections. It
enters the bloodstream after being absorbed through the skin. From there,
it prevents heartworm disease and works its way back to the skin to
kill surface-dwelling parasites. Selamectin also functions as an anthelmintic
that expels intestinal parasites.
Revolution requires a prescription
from your veterinarian.
Revolution (selamectin)
Revolution for puppies at least 6 weeks
old and kittens at least 8 weeks old up to 5 lbs. is pink. It contains
15 mg selamectin.
Revolution for cats 5.1-15 lbs. is
blue. It contains 45 mg selamectin.
Revolution for cats 15.1-22 lbs. is
taupe. It contains 60 mg selamectin.
Revolution for dogs 5.1-10 lbs. is
purple. It contains 30 mg selamectin.
Revolution for dogs 10.1-20 lbs. is
brown. It contains 60 mg selamectin.
Revolution for dogs 20.1-40 lbs. is
red. It contains 120 mg selamectin.
Revolution for dogs 40.1-85 lbs. is
teal. It contains 240 mg selamectin.
Revolution for dogs 85.1-130 lbs. is
plum. It contains 360 mg selamectin.
Revolution is sold in packages containing
3 and 6 individual dose tubes.
Revolution is made with isopropyl alcohol
and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), a preservative.
Warnings:
Keep this product out of reach of children
and animals. This product is flammable. Do not use or store in or near
open flame or heat.
Revolution is only for dogs and puppies
at least 6 weeks of age and cats and kittens at least 8 weeks of age.
Not for humans or other animals. Only use Revolution on a dog or cat
for which it was prescribed. Follow your veterinarian's instructions
carefully.
Do not apply Revolution to broken skin.
Do not apply when the hair coat is wet.
CAUTION: Side effects are uncommon
with Revolution, but may include drooling, diarrhea, vomiting, temporary
hair loss at the application site, diminished appetite, loss of coordination,
trembling, drowsiness, rapid breathing, or elevated heart rate. Talk
to your veterinarian about any observed side effects.
Revolution is only for topical administration.
Do not give orally. In the event of oral administration, contact your
veterinarian immediately. Drooling or vomiting may occur.
If you know of or suspect an overdose,
seek emergency veterinary treatment. Signs include increased salivation,
shaking, dilated pupils, weakness, staggering, or pressing the head
against a wall.
Do not apply Revolution to ill, weak,
or underweight animals.
While Revolution is not known to interact
with foods or drugs, consult your veterinarian before putting your pet
on any drug or supplement regimen.
Do not combine Revolution with another
heartworm medication. Pets should be tested for existing heartworm infections
and disease before taking this medication.
Revolution may irritate the eyes and
skin on humans. Rarely, redness, itching, and hives have occurred.
