for your cat and in which specific circumstances it should be used.
Feliway Spray Directions:
- Do not spray product on cats or other animals.
- Shake before use. Hold bottle vertically when spraying.
- Apply 1 depression of the nozzle daily about 4 inches
away from places urine-marked by the cat to prevent further markings.
Spray about 8 inches above the floor. Apply in the same manner to large
objects and other likely urine targets.
- Reduce to once-weekly applications once the cat is
observed rubbing its face on the wall or objects in the area. Stop treatment
after 1 month in any areas where this behavior is never observed.
- Prevent initial markings in a new home with once-daily
applications of 1 nozzle depression 4 inches from prominent objects,
about 8 inches above the floor.
- Follow the same protocols for 45 days straight if
you have elderly cats in a multiple-cat household. Reduce to once every
2 to 3 days once cats are observed rubbing their faces on walls or objects
in the area.
- Apply only to areas already marked (typically near
doors and windows) if using to prevent a sexually excited male from
marking in response to the presence of a female in heat.
- Spray inside cages used for transport or holding
20 minutes before the cat is put inside.
- Spray 3 to 4 depressions of the nozzle in the cat's usual area of a vehicle before putting your pet
in.
- Spray 1 depression of the nozzle in each corner of
boarding accommodations once per day until the cat is observed rubbing
its face in the treated areas.
- Spray 1 depression of the nozzle 8 inches up and
4 inches away from areas that are attractive for scratching. Such areas
are typically fully visible and vertical.
Feliway Electric Diffuser Directions:
- Remove the cap from the vial.
- Screw the diffuser into the vial and gently tighten.
- Plug diffuser into an electrical socket in the room
most used by the cat or in the room in which marking has occurred.
- If marking has occurred in different places in an
area greater than 650 sq. ft., use more than one diffuser to cover the
area.
- Plug in diffuser at least 1 hour prior to a cat's arrival in a new place.
- Dispose of vial after 6 weeks, even if some fluid
remains. Attach a refill vial.
