Dogs Flea Treatment & Control Medication
Comfortis is a prescription flea control medication for dogs that kills fleas for up to one month. Beef-flavored chewable tablets make it easy to administer Comfortis flea treatment to your dog. Comfortis is available in 6 month packs for extra-small dogs 5-10 lbs., small dogs 10-20 lbs., medium dogs 20-40 lbs., large dogs 40-60 lbs., and extra-large dogs 60-120 lbs.
For Use In: Dogs and puppies
14 weeks of age or older. Comfortis is not for use in cats or other
animals.
Keep out of reach of children. Do not
allow children to handle Comfortis. Read directions and precautionary
statements before use.
Directions:
Give Comfortis to your dog
once per month by mouth.The recommended dose of Comfortis is
13.5 mg/lb. Offer Comfortis with food
or just before meals to encourage acceptance.

* Dogs over 120 lbs should be administered the appropriate combination of tablets.
Frequency of Use:
Administer Comfortis chewable tablets
once monthly.
Begin treatment during any season.
Effectiveness is improved when Comfortis is started one month before
active flea season. Continue the product without interruption in areas
where fleas are common year-round.
Storage:
Store in original container and out
of reach of children and animals.
Store this product at room temperature.
It is a violation of Federal Law
to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Spinosad, the active ingredient in
Comfortis, excites the nervous system of fleas by activating nicotinic
acetylcholine receptors. This action leads to paralysis and death. Comfortis chewable tablets are available
in five sizes: 140 mg, 270 mg, 560 mg, 810 mg, and 1620 mg.
Comfortis is only available by prescription.

known contraindications for using Comfortis.
Federal (USA) law restricts this drug
to use by or on the order of a licensed veterinarian.
CAUTION: Comfortis may cause
depression, vomiting, lethargy, ataxia, diarrhea, anorexia, trembling,
itching, hypersalivation, and/or seizures.
Using ivermectin with Comfortis may
cause serious adverse reactions, including seizures, twitching, trembling,
ataxia, blindness, drooling, and disorientation.
